Project details:

The electronic Freight Transport Information (eFTI)’s primary goal is to propel the digitalization of freight transport and logistics, aiming to achieve key outcomes: reducing administrative costs, enhancing enforcement capabilities of authorities, and promoting efficiency and sustainability in transportation. The eFTI regulation mandates member states to accept electronic transport information from companies for all transport modes by end-2026. The ongoing eFTI4EU project actively explores necessary developments at the member state level. The objective is a harmonized, cross-border system of eFTI Gates. Tangible outcomes include technical specifications and a reference implementation of the eFTI Gate, shared with other member states. Building on these efforts, the eFTI4ALL project, led by Sweden, takes a crucial second step aiming to fulfill the Commission’s vision of a comprehensive eFTI exchange environment by involving more member states and achieving a balanced representation of Economic Operators (EOs). These entities will develop and test eFTI implementation, explore new use cases, contribute to realizing a fully integrated, streamlined electronic freight transport across EU.
